After the "Great Simm Clean Up of 2010" was conducted by President William Hunt, it took a while to sort things out. We are now down to 11 simms with 9 being active. As President Hunt suggested, we are better for the clean up. We still hit 365 posts in the middle of summer, not bad.
Just a reminder, July 28, 2010 is report day. Everyone should be checking to make sure everything is functional and getting ready to submit their reports.
The Fleet Report is now available at:

Congratulations to the Phoenix Colony for winning the Gold Posting Award for the Month of June.
Congratulations to everyone on achieving the magical 500 post mark.
With 113 characters, the PF remains the best small fleet on the internet.
Great Job.
Monday is the 28th of the month and requires that all COs submit their platform reports. Please try to submit the reports here first. If this fails, please submit the reports on the forum site.
As part of the great simm clean up of 2010, failure to report could prove very dangerous to the future of your platform. The PF is better served to be smaller and stronger than to have a bunch of half empty, barely functional platforms.
Anodyne Productions has made Nova 1.0.5 available as the fifth maintenance release to Nova 1.0. Included in this release are fixes for errors being thrown throughout the system, a bug that wouldn't allow unlinked NPCs to use newly created bio fields, a security issue with the docking form and more.
A full changelog can be found on AnodyneDocs or from the System and Versions report once Nova has been updated. This update is highly recommended for all users.
As some of you may be aware, some sims have started moving towards Nova. All of the ugrades so far have been successful and they are working well.
We will be starting to move the majority of sims over to Nova in the near future, this will be done in an organised manner and will be done on a sim by sim basis when people are reported as ready to switch, it should be seamless but we expect some bugs on the way.
I am also starting to convert an old SMS skin "Zetari" to nova which should be ready by the beginning of next week. This will give some much needed diversity to the available skins and will hopefully show how easy it is to convert the skins we love to this new system.

Nova was released on time but we are monitoring the bugs section on the anodyne forums and waiting for further fixes and releases. Many of thbe initial bugs have been fixed for 1.0.3 and only a few remain to be ironed out. We are hopeing to start upgrading all simms by the release of 1.0.5, but this will only happen if we are agreed that the upgrade will not cause major disruptions to fleet operations.
The Phoenix Fleet Report Day is April 28, 2010. Please submit your reports here. If trouble exists, please submit reports on the forums and report the problems to our fantastic web master, William.

After a long time comming we have finally been given a release date for NOVA. April 15th 2010 just before midnight. This is the aniversary of the SMS release back in 2005 so it is a fitting date for the release.
With the release we will be waiting several days for updates and bug to be found and fixed before we update ALL of our simms. But to help with finding bugs and contributing to the community we will be selecting a couple of simms to be transfered to NOVA immediatly after its release.
We have been looking forward to this release for almost 2 years and would like to thank David and the Nova Development team at Anodyne and the other staff for all their hard work in bringing NOVA to us all.
For more information on nova or to download the latest BETA release, visit http://nova.anodyne-productions.com
It is my sad duty to inform everyone that early this morning I received an email from Tim stating that he was resigning from his duties in the fleet as well as all his simms effective immediately. Due to real life commitments Tim is unable to continue with the fleet he helped start all those many months ago.
I would like everyone to take a moment and say goodbye to him and wish him well. I know I speak on behalf of the entire Phoenix Fleet when I wish Tim all the best in his life and that he better not become a stranger and at least make some type of attempt to visit with us once and awhile.
After a little hard work and alot of luck, I would like to announce that the Phoenix Fleet Banner Exchange is now up and running. Anyone can register and create a banner, but they are monitored and any inapropriate banners will be deleted.
The banners work on a credits for impressions system, each time a member displays our banner exchange on their website, we will display their banner 5 times.
For more information please see the banner exchange page, as this will give instructons on how to go about setting up your banners. The system is not yet complete but it is useable, the ability to edit and delete banners will be added later.
Well done to the amazon, this is an impressive video
After several meetings and discussions we are proud to announce a new role in the fleet. This role is a Fleet Advisory. Similar to a member of the Trinity he is a high ranking member of the Fleet Leadership. His duty is to advise the Trinity of matters of important and offer suggestions during fleet votes on things we might not have considered. This is a very important role and one that our own Trinity Member Tim Veltkamp has agreed to fill the role of.
Tim has agreed to take on this responsibility to be able to spend more time working on his Phoenix Fleet Simms as well as spend important time working on his continuing school education which we think is awesome because education is important.
We are also proud to announce that Tyler has agreed to take on the third role in the Trinity and will be on to assist in the daily running of the Phoenix Fleet. Please feel free to address questions, concerns, and comments to him as if you would any of the trinity members or the Fleet Adviser.
Please congratulate both members on their new positions.
Over the past few weeks we have been asking members to make a small donation towards the upkeep of the server and the domains. We have had a good responce and we have now got $102.35 this leaves just $38 more to go and we will not have to worry about server costs for about 4 years.
We would like to take this oportunity to thank everyone for their contributions and urge those who can donate to do so as soon as possible so that we may hit our target before the renewal date for our hosting package in about 2/3 weeks.
The Vulcan Government has released the following statement:
People of the Phoenix Federation, our peoples do not have a dispute, and we would like to avoid that possibility, which we are sure you are. I S'Task, the new Chancellor of the Vulcan Republic assures you that the only quarrel is between the Federation and us. We simply are simply leaving the Federation, which is well within our rights under the Federation Charter, any action taken by the United Federation of Planets is illegal and we are prepared to take action in order to prevent this.
Chancellor S'Task
Chancellor of Vulcan
At a joint session of the Vulcan Ruling Council, the Council voted 231 to 0 in favor of session. Former Ambassador S'Task stationed here at New Terra has been named the new Chancellor, on the behest of Councilor Spock, former Chief Councilor of the Vulcan Ruling Council. Chancellor S'Task has chosen to remain on New Terra in order to discuss a peace treaty and a possible mutual assistance pact with the Phoenix Federation. When asked about these negotiations Chancellor S'Task did not comment. He has said that a question answer session with the press will be held in one week's time in the main hall of the Vulcan Embassy, only those with invitations will be admitted. PNN of course has been invited.
With the announcement of Vulcan independence that came from the Vulcan Ambassador at New Terra as well as the announcement of hostilities by the Vulcan's in ceasing production at the Dilithium Sands Facility at the Phoenix Colony. President Hunt has ordered that all Phoenix Federation Starships go to Yellow Alert.
The U.S.S. Aries and the U.S.S. Archangel have both been sent to the Colony to assist with Planetary Security. Vulcan and the United Federation of Planets have been warned about hostilities in Phoenix Federation Space.
On a second note the Phoenix Defense Force (the Phoenix Federations version of Starfleet) has lost contact with the U.S.S. Benfold and the Exploratory force sent to the SagDeg Dwarf Galaxy. A message from President Hunt who's brother is Captain of the Benfold said that he was not worried and that he expects to hear from his brother soon. The President is quoted with saying "Knowing my brother he's to busy exploring the galaxy and just forgot to call home."
Some time in the next few months the PBE RPG community will have the oportunity to seriously step up its game. The release of the new Simm Management System from Anodyne Productions called "NOVA" will herald in a new era for Simming in general. With this new system comes a whole slew of changes that will make simming, easer, faster, multi platform, multi genre, expandable and much much more!
Some of the command staff here at Phoenix Fleet have been working with the pre-release of NOVA and making sure that we know how it works so that we can help our members make best use of this system when it is released. We have been making the website compatable with this new system and have almost completed that work.
We are also planning a brand new Phoenix Fleet standard Skin that will be available to all PF members within a month of the release of NOVA, It will include a space for ship images etc in the background and we will help members intergrate this skin if they want to, this skin is not mandatory.
Keep checking for more information as we get closer to the release date!
Today the new Phoenix-Fleet website officially came online. With the new website comes many new features and probably some bugs. I hope that everyone reports any bugs that they find.
The new website has several improvments over the old one, not just the sleek new look. Many of the new features will not be aparent to the average member but we know tht they will make all of our lives much easier.
The year 2009 now draws to a close and we have seen friends leave but we have also gained new friends. Beginning in March of 2009 the Phoenix Fleet has grown from a small handful of Simms into a group spanning 42 Simms and 7 genres. I cannot state how proud I am of every single member of this fleet for the fantastic work you have all been doing in order to make us one of the biggest groups in the community. Without you all I can honestly say that we might not even be here to enjoy the end of the year together. As you know in order to cope with the size of the Fleet the Fleet Command got together and discussed at great length what needed to be done for 2010. It was decided to restructure the fleet adding several new departments as well as the addition of Task Groups known as fleets into the Star Trek Genre
We have had some difficulties in our early beginnings however we always managed to find a way of working things out. In other fleets things like this would have normally torn them apart as we have seen by some of the many closures and splits that have taken place in the Trek Simming World. Where they have failed we have used it to bind us closer together as a group and in some sense an extended family as we see certain people online almost as much as our regular family. Our fleet motto was right when it said "From the Ashes We Rise" we always found a way to turn any problem into an advantage and used it to strengthen the very foundation that we were built on to have fun.
Some of you may wonder what the New Year means to the Phoenix Fleet. That is simple, thanks to William, our new webmaster; we have a brand new website that will take us to the release of the latest version of the SMS system 'Nova'. Now the folks down at Anodyne Productions have come up with a whole new approach to the way the Simm Management System is designed thus it was given a new name. Once Nova is released in the spring of 2010 the Phoenix Fleet website will be undergoing renovation to V1.1 which will give us better user access to the Simms information and will turn the site into a sort of Fleet Management System that is 200% better than anything currently being used by the community. You will begin seeing the release of a monthly news letter that we hope will eventually be able to go to each and every registered user account on every Simm in the fleet. We have also added new staff positions to help delegate tasks that would keep the Fleet Command busy well into the night. This gives you more opportunities to help your fleet. We are also projecting a growth to approximately 70-80 Simms by December of 2010. If we reach or surpass that number it would be fantastic. If we don't that's not a problem we would prefer to have less but better quality Simms then just a ton of Simms of low quality. And I can say that from reading the posts that get sent to me we have extremely talented writers so I am definitely not worried about a lack of quality posts. If we do reach our projection then I am confident that these members like you will be valuable assets to the fleet stories and will show us with the honour and integrity that you all show now.
